Navratri – 9 Days to Worship the Feminine Divinity

What does it mean to be a woman of 2020? I was broiling over this question for a long time, does it mean being independent or a multi-tasker? Women play many roles in one life, she is a daughter, sister, wife, mother, co-worker, a career woman and many more. She encompasses every role beautifully, a woman of 2020 is an unstoppable force who can achieve everything without a superhero cape.

International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8th March, to honor the remarkable role of women in the world. Started in the 1900s, women’s day promotes gender equality, equal rights and opportunities to women from all sections of the society.

This year, the theme of International Women’s Day is, “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights”.

Today as an ode to all the amazing women out there, I am featuring views of some of the most aspiring women of today. These ladies not only have excelled in their respective fields but also inspired many others to come to grow.

1. What is the Role of Women in today’s world?

Deepa Gandhi is a dietician, choreographer, and a blogger by passion who have completed 5 years in blogging and also has won many awards. Deepa writes on health, parenting, travel and more on her blog Keativemommy. She says, “I feel women play a very important role in society in many different ways but it has surely changed in today’s world for the better. Today women are self-sufficient, independent and aware of many different fields. Their role is surely impacting society in a good way.“

A former TV news anchor who switched to blogging after the birth of her first daughter, Karma. She calls her blog A Travel Mom’s Blog, Shubhreet Kaur says – “Women are multi-taskers and whether it’s a working woman or stay at home one, an introvert or an extrovert, traditional or modern. Each in their own way is already fulfilling more roles than they actually should have to. It’s the men whose roles now have to catch up! I feel it is happening.” Shubhreet’s articles aimed at spreading gender-equal, gender-neutral & other equality based aspects of modern parenting have gained lots of appraise from everyone.

Geethica Mehra an e-book author, motivational blogger, book reviewer, and wonderful person says, “Women have really come so far today. From centuries, their intelligence had been overshadowed by numerous reasons and now when they are at their best in different areas of discipline, there’s no comparison to them.”

2. How do you Connect to Women Empowerment?

Ruchi Verma, an award-winning blogger, mother of two adorable kids says, “For me, women empowerment starts from home… If we can empower a single woman in our surrounding we have done our bit and I feel this need to be done and need to understand a lot.” Ruchi has won many awards and recognized for her consistent contribution to digital content creation space.

Dr. Amrita Basu an ENT and head, neck surgeon by profession, an author and a wonderful blogger says, “I try to help women by sharing information about opportunities through my blog. I have a webpage dedicated to feature and promote Women bloggers, writers, and entrepreneurs on my blog since 2014. It’s a dream to feature all women entrepreneurs in India, through my mompreneur who inspires series. I am lucky to know many such inspiring women.“

3. As a blogger/digital media expert how you imbibed positivity and spread it using your own platform?

Amrit Kaur is a listed beauty & lifestyle blogger and an Instagram sensation from New Delhi. She says, “As a content creator, I have learned over 3 years that it is necessary to be confident with our real self. I have stepped up my creativity and now I am happily sharing my content that is real.“

A gold medalist in Biotechnology and Management, Jhilmil Bhansali followed her passion for traveling and writing. Her blog Mommyinme shares her knowledge as a parent, traveler and digital marketing expert. Jhilmil adds, “When words make an impact on someone’s life, it is a thousand times more than receiving an award! So there was an instance wherein I was working towards sharing the story of a child with Cerebral Palsy. The real story with how the child was doing and his requisites, made people connect so much that they came to lend their support for the cause.“

Motivating words have the power to move mountains, here are some inspiring messages from these powerful women.

Amrita debunks the myth of shortcuts and says – “There are no shortcuts to plain old hard work. The biggest myth is the one which tells you there are shortcuts. Persist. Let persistence be your Superpower”.

Geethica reiterates the need for patience, she thinks “A woman needs to have immense patience, not for her children, husband or society but her own peace of mind. Only if you smile, you can reflect happiness. Always believe in the power of your thoughts.” You are what you think.

There is no hurry, and failure isn’t a word for trying. Shubhreet also feels trying is the way forward to break the shackles of your inhibitions. She asks women to TRY! TRY! TRY!!! There are no failures. Only learnings & practice!

Ruchi shares a strong bond with her mother, and she shares a message from her mother’s wisdom – “Do whatever your heart says is right. If you still feel you can’t tell anyone, think of yourself as the best judge.”

Remember who you “really” are, and your game will change. You’re NOT a super-woman, but a strong yet compassionate woman! It’s important to love yourself and it is also important to accept your flaws, just keep working towards your goals is what Jhilmil shares with all her readers and followers.

Amrit earnestly believes in this quote “Never compare yourself with others, just stand out and be confident with Yourself!”

“If I were to describe a woman’s strength, I will be talking about rocks, depths, fire, and warfare. A woman can withstand the harshest realities and still create a beautiful home.” This is what real women are made up of, says Deepa.

Women Who Inspire You the Most –

I have known these ladies from the beginning of my blogging journey. We have achieved so many things together, our camaraderie is worth many accolades. So, let us see what they have to say about the women who inspire them.

Ruchi quips, “one is definitely you! as you have always been with me in thick and thin. My mother as she is the strongest lady I have seen has art to manage everything with a smile.”

“The first name would always be my Mother. Apart from her I really feel inspired by few bloggers like Mscocoqueen, thatbohogirl, Huda and not to miss Dipika Singh who has been my dur ki friend but still close to my heart.” says Amrit Kaur.

Jhilmil feels choosing your battles carefully and raising voice fearlessly is commendable. She is inspired by global icons like Malala Yousafzai and Ashley Graham. I am honored to be named by her as an inspiring woman. She says – “Dipika I have always seen you raise your voice for the right, and it always empowers others!“
Jhilmil further adds inspirational work by Saakshi Singla, towards Gender Neutral Parenting and Vani Murthy, who is a determined change-maker in the field of Waste Segregation, Composting, and making Earth a better place to live.

Dr. Amrita is an inspiring lady herself. She mentions beloved minister Late Mrs. Sushma Swaraj as her inspiration. Philanthropist Melinda Gates, J.K  Rowling, Mary Kom, Smriti Irani, Richa Singh, Dipika Singh, Mayuri, Preethi Venugopala as the women she looks forward to growing and inspire others with their commendable work.

“Every woman is a queen and we all have different things to offer. Different women around me inspire me in different ways. So, it won’t be easy to name each and everyone in here” says Deepa. And I agree, everyone can inspire us if you have an eye and heart to gather the good things.

Now, is the bragging time as Shubhreet who is an amazing woman, the most humble person I have known and an Instagram Celebrity mom is kind enough to write a whole paragraph on me 🙂
