The Secret Crush Part II

Natasha is a regular at Emirates First Class, traveling more frequently than vagabonds, en route to her latest travel transitions, she was escorted by Aman – her concierge. Unaware of his infatuation for her, she acts indifferent to him. Aman is a persuasive young lad, who is deeply smitten by this sexy siren, Natasha. All he wanted was her attention! To know more, read Part 1 of this story, here.

Aman was gleeful, his benign plan was executed well. She finally noticed and looked straight into his eyes. Her touch was ecstatic, a soft brush could give an indication of how blissful it would be to hold her in his arms. Seeing her gorgeous face so close was a breathtaking experience. He noticed she was not wearing any makeup, just some kohl and nude lipstick her lips were fine pieces of art, thin, soft, and made with perfection.

While retreating from the aircraft, all he could think was her bewildered reaction, she didn’t anticipate the closeness, and her heart skipped a beat when he fastened her belt. It was like a victory leap, without leaving any traces of his premeditated plan, he got her glimpse up close and personal. ‘I need to take this forward, she didn’t flinch away from me’, he made a mental note to himself with a hint of a jubilant smile.

Miles away somewhere, Emran was waiting by the exit, Natasha got a glimpse of the black beast as she came out from the VIP exit. His friendly face shared a glint of smile seeing her back to the bay, and asked, ‘How was your journey, Madamji?’

‘It was good, Emran, thank you. How was your daughter’s wedding?’ she questioned.

‘Wonderful Madamji, she was looking like a heroin in your gifted dress,’ said an elated father.

Turning the wheels into a huge vintage-styled mansion, Emran stopped the car by the lobby for Natasha to descend. ‘I will be by the garage, Madam’ he informed with a humble nod.

Scaling the steps, Natasha enters the very familiar lobby. An entourage of helpers welcomed her with warm smiles, she eyes a large bouquet of purple iris carnations, with a card popping out, ‘Welcome Home, Love. See you in the evening’. She read the card peacefully with a fleeting smile and kept it in the confines of her handbag, climbing towards the bedroom on the first floor.

Her room occupies a large poster bed with white sheen curtains looking over the seashore and palm groves. She deeply inhaled the acquainted smell of lavenders and gardenia, her favourite smell. I need a warm bath to wash off the traveling stress, and a quick nap before the evening, she thought heading straight to the grand bathroom.

She started to fill the bath tub, a few drops of essential oils to relax the nerves. Coming out of her clothes she entered the inviting warm bath, she was finally at ease and in her territory. Her eyes were feeling heavy when she propped her head by the support and started scrubbing her body. Inadvertently she rubbed her wrist repeatedly, the same spot touched by the airport guy yesterday. She wasn’t naïve to the sexual charms, but this touch was incorrupt, it’s a novelty.

It was around 5 in the evening when her staff brought tea in her room, she gazed over the horizon from the large French windows of her bedroom. She picked a magazine from the stack kept by the coffee table, when her eyes caught the GQ.

‘Interesting, let’s see what do you have for me today, huh!’ She turned a few pages uninterestingly, the same rhetoric ads, faces, fashion, nothing fresh or original when she stumbled on a face, er… brown eyes. Her thoughts were back in the aircraft, those two glistening brown eyes – she couldn’t stop herself from thinking about his eyes, deep brown with a hint of sheepish ploy, her lips twitched in a smile.

‘What’s happening with you, Natasha! get a grip!! He is just a boy, leave him be’, she said piercingly to herself.

Will Natasha’s troubled mind get any solace? Aman is planning to take this demeanor to the next level, let’s see what happens next tomorrow.

Right To You – Part II: Love Story

April 21, 2020

In the last post, we read about two classmates and budding medical professionals, Anshul and Pranav and their friendship. Pranav is bold, free-spirited and an heir to pharma giant. Anshul, on the contrary, comes from a family of land-owners and farmers. He picks up a job in an NGO to add credits and earn some extra money, where he meets Chandni Dewan. The founder of NGO, a middle-aged woman whose charm and beauty dumbfounded Anshul. What happens next, let’s begin with Part 2.

Part II

Life of a doctor-in-making is tough and challenging, MBBS students have to be on toes 24/7 throughout the academic year. Anshul was aware of what he is trading for this part-time job, the rare semester break. At the NGO, he was assigned to visit slum areas around the capital for an awareness drive. A team of social workers, office colleagues, Shantanu and a handful of police personnel reached the nearby slums.

He was not sure where to begin when Shantanu asked him to start collecting blood samples from the female candidates standing close to their medical van. Hesitantly, he picked up his kits and started the collection process.

By the time he was finished with everyone in the line, it was evening already. Shantanu waved him to start winding up, he was carefully storing all the blood samples after labeling properly when a small kid came running to him.

“Save my maa doctor sahib, please save her,” he was trembling. Anshul looked around and started following the child. After braving through the maze of lanes and by-lanes, they reached a shanty with a leaking roof. He could smell a rotten odor coming from inside, in medical terminology, they call it to smell of ‘dead’.

A lady was lying in blood sodden clothes in a semi-conscious state. Looking at her condition, Anshul asked the boy, what happened and where is the father. “Maa is lying like this in pain since yesterday night, and papa is in jail.”

He first dialed for an ambulance and then to Shantanu, in the meantime, Anshul helped the lady to sit upright and started cleaning her up. By the time he was finished with wiping off stale blood others arrived and transported her to the hospital.

The night was rather tough for Anshul as he has seen a different face of mankind.

The next day morning, he reached office astounded as everyone got up from their seats and started clapping for him. He was taken by surprise, filled with gratitude to joined he smiled and thanked everyone when Chandni walked in. Wearing her signature pastel red-colored chiffon saree with a pearl necklace, she is the most beautiful site. Anshul’s were glued to her face – his smiling diva.

“I heard how bravely you handled the situation yesterday; we are so fortunate to have people like you working for us!” Chandni said in a modest voice. Anshul was fixed in one place like a statue, she has that effect on him.

Shantanu coughed a little to make him aware of his presence, “thank you, ma’am, I mean Ms. Chandni.” He was fumbling worst than the earlier encounter.

“Chandni! Please, I don’t like my colleagues to get overwhelmed with the salutations. What you have done yesterday was not only courageous but also very kind. Keep it up!” with this, she patted him on the shoulder.

Anshul didn’t ease his shoulder for the whole day.

“Anshu, what’s up man? How’s new job treating Mr. Malik?” it was Pranav on the video call, thrilled as ever.

“Hey, buddy! Job is good, how are you? What the hell are you up to?” he asked him looking at the mess behind on the floor and his bed.

“Yeah! A few drinks, dance, hot girls, and some more fun. I have not taken a pledge of celibacy like you man.” He toyed with his best friend.

“Come on, when did I say that?” Anshul strike back with irritation.

“Okay, so tell me when was the last time you went for a date, forget about a date, even spoken to a girl?” Pranav was in no mood to give up yet.

“Well, to be precise, just few hours ago.”

“Tell me more, who is she, what’s her name? Is she sexy? Did you guys kiss?” Pranav was always a loose cannon.

“Shut up, will you! I was talking about my boss. She is a girl, umm, I mean a lady and I spoke to her today. Period.”

“Lady boss! Huh, I see. So Mr. Malik, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and impress her, you never know if she invites you for a coffee.” He further teased Anshul.

“I am off to sleep, not interested in your nonsense. Bye.”

Pranav isn’t wrong in teasing him, he never spoken to any girl from college, nor had any past relationships. But, Chandni is different. She has a far-reaching impact on Anshul and he is falling for it.

Despite of the age gap, Anshul doesn’t mind covering any distance for her.

Is there a foolproof strategy for a happy relationship? Any secret potion that makes a relationship work! Only if we knew, half of the world’s unhappy couples would have been living a happily ever after life. But, we know, life isn’t a fairy tale and love can’t solve all the problems. Hence, there are long queues outside family courts and divorce lawyers’ offices.

However, millions of happy couples have made their relationship work. There are little things that make you happy in a relationship. In this post, we will talk about 5 ‘open’ secrets of Happy and Healthy Relationships.

Are there any Tips for Building a Happy Relationship?

Well, there is no right or wrong answer to this question, it depends on the personal equations of people in a relationship. But, let us learn from the story of Sushma how she beat the odds and lived happily ever after with her beloved for a lifetime.

Sushma was sitting by her favorite corner, next to the veranda mogra shrub busy chanting with tulsi-mala, when Nidhi stormed inside from the front gate. Looking furious, she directly went to her old room, without even mentioning her arrival to anyone. It has become a daily affair ever since she and her husband moved to Baroda. Kaveesh, her poor husband usually comes by evening or the next day to make up and take her back home.

For hours she didn’t come out of her room, Finally, Madhu (mother) decided to go and check on her daughter, when, Kaveesh (Nidhi’a husband) entered from the front gate with a sorry face and droopy shoulders. Rishub (father) motioned him toward Nidhi’s room and within no time, she was out as if nothing ever happened. Everything was back to normal in no time, courtesy of Kaveesh.

Sushma was silently looking at the whole commotion, sipping her evening tea when Nidhi quipped her, ‘Ba, aren’t you going to share any neighborhood gossip with me today?’ Her granny gave a soft chuckle, and said, ‘I am going to tell you a story today, are you all up for it?’

Everyone gathered around Sushma, and she began –

Many years ago a young girl entered a temple compound with her shoes on. Priests and other elderly started yelling at her. Astounded she froze in a position unable to move when a young lad bent down to hold her hand and helped in removing the slippers with a sweet smile. He had very beautiful brown eyes.

An year later, a few people came to her house with a marriage proposal, seeing the groom before marriage was not permitted during those days but after their wedding, she got a glimpse of a familiar sweet smile. She was sent to her maternal home for a few months after the wedding rituals as per customs, with a little spark of affection for the boy who held her in the temple.

Fifteen months later, she entered her husband’s home. Mother and elders had given her a long list of do’s and don’ts for her wedded life. She felt very timid at the age of seventeen among the strange prying eyes. It was her mother-in-law who called her inside the room when she met her spouse for the very first time. Her fluttering heart found solace in those two shining brown eyes. She was lost in the warmth of her husband’s comforting eyes and a broad smile. He had something about him, that brought calmness to her chirpy skittish self.

Secrets of How to Be Happy in a Relationship

They started a new life together without any wisdom. With each passing day, they learned new things and gained experience. He was a suave tall man with ‘English’ features, while she was a modest lady, they developed trust and respect for each other. Despite odds, together they fought life battles, poverty, social pressures, and judgments. He brought calmness to her anxious heart and in return she was completely dedicated to him.

If made for each other is to be personified, they were the ideal match. In the first few years of marriage, they made five promises for a happy married life –

1. Always Communicate for a happy relationship –

No matter what the situation is, however ugly the fight or argument is, always communicate with each other without any appeasement. Openly share your feelings without holding back or any resentment.

Open communication is the most basic thing to have a happy relationship with your spouse. Not communicating means you are building resentment and slowly it will cloud your judgment and distance yourself from those you really love.

2. Compromise –

A successful relationship requires a few sacrifices and compromises to meet on a common ground. That doesn’t mean to stop living your life and forgo what you like the most. But, compromising on common grounds from both ends for a shared goal, a happy married life.

Never let your ego and selfish motives come in between your marriage. That doesn’t mean you have to agree with each other every time or vice-versa, but, as a couple you need to identify what’s best for ‘us’.

3. Respect –

You need to respect each other in a relationship and as two different individuals. Disrespecting each other will only add resentment and fade away the charm of love. Both partners must value each other’s choices and respect the differences of opinion.

Every healthy relationship is based on the foundation of respect. Disrespecting your spouse in front of others will only pull down their self-respect and eventually end up in a loveless marriage.

4. Spending Quality Time Together and Away –

Spending time away from each other is as important a component as staying together for a happy married life. Time spent away brings novelty in life and strikes the right balance in a relationship.

Spending quality time with each other apart from living together as a couple means a huge difference. Movie nights, dinner dates, vacations, and holidays to enjoy each other’s company bring a new leash of life in a relationship.

5. Refrain from Criticising for a Happy Relationship –

While keeping expectations real in life, one must not indulge in over-criticism. All relationships go through their ups and downs, but that doesn’t cause any one partner to become hyper-critical. If your partner is sensitive about something, be patient and give him/her a little time.

These were the promises they made to each other 60-odd years ago and never broke each other’s trust even once. Sushma looked up from her chair, everyone was amusingly listening to her. She saw Nidhi clutching at Kaveesh’s hand while Madhu and Rishab were sitting by the sofa looking at their mother with contentment.

Sushma got up from her chair, when Nidhi asked, ‘Ba, this felt like a real story, who was that little girl and brown-eyed boy?’ She didn’t reply to her granddaughter’s question, just smiled waving at a memorial portrait hung on the wall. A handsome wrinkled face of her late grandfather was smiling back at Nidhi with comforting brown eyes.
